A homeowner in New Bremen, Ohio wanted his basement dry. After evaluation of the basement walls, we could not waterproof the basement and say we did an honest job, because the basement walls were nearly 100 years old and failing. We let the homeowner know that his basement walls needed to be replaced and that is what we went with.

Forever Foundation Repair excavated along the basement walls to expose the failing walls. We slightly lifted the house off the foundation just a 1/8 inch to take the weight off the walls, removed the old walls, poured the new concrete footing, then laid new block walls with 8×16 block reinforced with rebar and core filled every two feet on center. We then coated the walls with rubberized coating, wrapped the walls with a water barrier, backfilled with stone 80% and dirt to grade. We also installed an outside sump system and trenched a drainage line to the street. Now, this basement wall will last another 100 years!
